Shanghai, the economic center of the early Republic of China, was under turbulent occupation, all forces from all over the world were concentrated here. The Japanese Consulate General in Shanghai, Ryukawa Ida, attempted to turn Shanghai into a Japanese-occupied special economic zone without any effort and kidnapped Mayor Luo Shuzhang. Qin Fang, a young man in the 21st century, accidentally came into contact with a time-travelling gadget made by his grandfather and time-traveled to this time. By chance, he joined the Jingwu Sect, and became an apprentice to Chen Zhen as his teacher.
